Listing is for a nice vintage Heuer (pre-Tag) 980.020 that has been fully serviced as described below.
Reliable, fully functional, and ready to wear. This is an excellent “daily driver” watch that will perform well in almost any environment and looks great doing it. Classic styling in a reliable package. No winding so just grab and go!
This is an early thick case model which adds to the presence on the wrist pretty substantially compared to the later thinner versions. This watch measures ~13mm thick.
This particular example features an EXTREMELY clean Heuer dial and bezel insert.
Case size: ~37/38mm without crown.
•New battery which should be good for two years or more.
•The movement is the original Heuer signed movement which has just undergone a complete overhaul (disassembly, cleaning, lubrication, and reassembly) in our service shop. This movement comes with a 1 year mechanical warranty.
•The crystal is new and flawless. It has been substantially upgraded to a sapphire crystal which is nearly unscratchable!
•The bezel insert is original and in excellent condition which is very hard to find these days.
•This watch comes with our custom two-tone jubilee bracelet which fits up to a 7.9” wrist. This bracelet will accept a genuine Tag Heuer signed clasp cover if you have one of those or acquire one on eBay. Additional links are available if needed and they are $12. It will not accept a Heuer clasp cover without modifications and a new compression pin.
•All seals (case back, crown, and crystal gasket) were replaced. This watch features a new screw down crown. The watch was pressure tested to 200m after the case service.
•2-day USPS Priority Mail with full insurance is specified at $15.00.
