Listing is for a vintage Tag Heuer 840.006 with a beautiful matte black dial which has excellent patina to the hands which is often called “burnt tritium” in color. It is very consistent aging which is often not seen on all but the earliest versions.
This exterior of this watch is in used condition and presents well for its age with some wear in spots and signs of use as pictured but overall it is a good looking example. The watch was disassembled, ultrasonically cleaned, and reassembled with fresh gaskets and a new crown/tube. There is no corrosion or any other issues of that kind on this watch which can be an issue with this model and it’s predecessor the 980.023.
•The Swiss ETA 2824-2 automatic movement is functioning as intended. The movement is clean and corrosion free. The rate is very good which indicates it may have been recently serviced.
•The crystal is the original sapphire crystal which is in excellent condition aside from a few small scratches which aren’t very noticeable.
•This watch comes with the original Tag Heuer signed bracelet and it will fit up to a 6.75” wrist comfortably. Additional links are often available on eBay for reasonable prices.
•All seals (crown and crystal gasket) were replaced. The crown and tube are new. It has been pressure tested to 30m after the service.
